Observance of the following points will increase the life of the drip irrigation tape:

1- Type drip irrigation tapes are coiled. It should be noted that during transportation, contact with sharp objects will tear the tape.

2- Avoid keeping the irrigation strips in an open space and especially exposed to sunlight and rain. During the storage period, the tapes should be protected from rodents and insects, and unnecessary movement should be avoided.

3- Irrigation strips can be installed on the surface and under the soil (5 to 15 cm deep). But for better protection, it is recommended to install irrigation strips under the soil.

4- To prevent the damage of the strips, it is better that the cultivation bed is free of any sharp objects and before installing the strip, the field soil must be completely plowed and free of lumps and large pieces.

5- It is possible to install irrigation strips in two ways, manual and mechanized. In any case, under no circumstances should the tape be stretched on the ground or spread under tension. Therefore, the tape reel should be placed on a simple device whose axis is placed in two bearings on both sides and rotates easily, and installed by hand or mechanically. Avoid installing the reel on the side of the field and pulling the tape by the worker along the field. Because this will cause scratches and reduce the life of the tape.

6- In case of mechanized tape installation, standard tape spreading systems must be used. So that there is no contact with sharp, cutting and abrasive surfaces that cause tearing and damage of the tape in the entire route of the tape guide pipe from the reel to the ground (including the entrance and exit of the tape from the pipe and the inner surface of the pipe).

7- Before installing the tape to the pipe, the main and semi-main lines and manifolds should be washed.

8- In the areas where the wind speed causes the movement of the tape, the irrigation tapes should be fixed using plastic nails at suitable intervals, and where the wind speed is such that it is not possible to fix it with plastic nails, the tape should be fixed at a depth of 5 Installed up to 10 cm below the soil.

9- If the ambient temperature changes significantly during the day and night and there is a risk of frost, the strip should be installed underground.

10- If there is a possibility of snow and hail during the growing season, avoid spreading the strip on the soil.
